What’s Hot
- Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, the cherished Joker’s girl becomes a cult favorite and is the top attraction in Suicide Squad juggernaut. One can’t be surprised if DC decides to make a movie just to glorify Harley Quinn. Will Smith as Deadshot, an ace marksman and deadly hitman is still effervescent with allure after all these years in the industry.
- Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, a ruthless government operative with some questionable virtues and ethical philosophies brings her usual formidable presence and gravitas to the table.
- Allan A. Apone and his team have created some wonderful make up pallete and toping it off with prosthetic makeup gives this cloud the silver-lining
What’s Not
- Suicide Squad’s main drawback is that there’s no one to root for in this movie. Numerous plot points lack lucidity and inserted flashbacks end up seeming like a stale and meaningless stab at grandeur.
- The parts played by Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Joel Kinnaman don’t register and the other stars eventually succumb to Suicide Squad’s grim undertow.
- Jared Leto’s much talked-about Joker is only a lukewarm display of villainy being in between a small supporting role and consummate cameo. His role may seem entirely underwhelming partly due to bar being set so high by Heath Ledger’s legendary & unblemished portrayal.
