Vanmham (Tamil, 2014)

Though the intent is just not there from the creative department to differ from the usual, it never ceases from disappointing the audience with its placidity. Barring few moments of brilliance from Vijay Sethupathi and the refreshingly native setup in Kanyakumari, this one is sure to take revenge on your senses! – staying true to its title “Vanmham”, the intent for revenge!

Deux jours, une nuit (or) Two Days, One Night (French, 2014)

‘Two Days One Night’ is a slow yet gritty account of a lady’s quest to keep her job captured in ultra-realistic fashion raising pertinent questions on humanity. While it is not highly engaging, it is worth a watch for Marion Cotillard who proves once again why she is one the finest actors around.

After The Third Bell (English, 2014)

The bells are ringing for the indie filmmakers and here comes a neatly made crime investigation mystery elevated by abundantly talented actors and equally skilled technicians. Though there are enough avenues for improvement, this is one definitely worth a watch for those with a penchant for intelligently conceived crime mysteries!

Boyhood (English, 2014)

The metamorphosis of Mason & his elder sister, children of divorced parents living with their mother is showcased over a 13 year time frame as Mason grows from 5 to 18. The general situations faced by kids and teens are brought to picture in addition to the specificities children with divorced parents may have to deal with. It transcends cultural barriers to show how rapidly focus and interests transition as a kid moves through the toddler & teen phases of life!
