What’s Hot
- The majority of the screen space is taken up by Bradley Cooper (as Rory) and Zoe Saldana (as Dora) and they deliver the goods. The emotions, ranging from elation to disappointment, exhibited by the couple are very natural and relatable.
- Next up we have the charming Ben Barnes & Nora Arnezeder whose chemistry, amidst the final days of World War II, is sparkling and the trials and tribulations the couple undergo have been well enacted.
- Dennis Quaid (as Clayton Hammond) and Jeremy Irons can be classified as supporting characters mainly because of their limited screen time but their value to the plot is immense and they deliver measured performances.
- Kudos to the writer-director duo, Brian Klugman & Lee Sternthal for having the guts and vision in coming up with a complex plot of a story within a story within a story where morals are challenged.
What’s Not
- The complex plot swallows the engagement factor and the plot drifts away into ambiguity from time to time.
