What’s Hot
- The 6+ feet mutated Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello & Raphael along with their Master Splinter hog the limelight all the way through. The characters gain more prominence in the movie as they come out of their shadow with all their abilities in full purview. The movie is never about a secretive subject line – it’s all about crazy action sequences presented in ‘Real D’3D that defines what we call uninhibited entertainment!
- Michael Bay’s influence can be imperceptibly felt throughout the movie – the grating metallic sounds, the interspersed array of action sequences, fewer dialogues, tons & tons of debris created through all the obliteration and more emphasis on the visual spectacle. The Turtles sliding downhill on their shells is easily the most enjoyable portion of the movie and has been particularly well captured.
- Megan Fox for once has a sane role at her disposal with considerable scope to display her acting skills including the amusing crush which Michelangelo develops towards her. Will Arnett doesn’t disappoint either with his ever reliable comic timing.
- There is this a particular passage where the audience are pushed almost to the edge of their seats wait with anxiety about the looming action sequence with the Turtles waiting in an elevator. Out of nowhere, Michelangelo uses his Nunchakus to cook up some beats and what happens next is something you will never foresee!
What’s Not
- The lethargic start to the movie takes the steam away from the impending plot. It’s a disgrace that the exhilaration brought on the screen by the Turtles doesn’t last all along and are cut short by noticeable blemishes in the story and screenplay.
- The humans in the movie just seem to be a part of the scenery with no significant role to play and the air of mute subordination to the dominating mutants, undermines the vast competencies of a modern human being.
