Regional (read Non-Bollywood) Films that appeal evenly across the nation and even across the globe are extremely rare. In that vein, Thithi is certainly a precious gem as it conveys philosophy in a comical fashion using real people in the most un-cinematic of ways!
‘Idhu Namma Aalu’ attempts to be a breezy urban rom-com with some attractive stars essaying the lead roles. However, post the 1st half, the film becomes almost unbearable with the amount of cheesiness on show, and Soori’s wisecracks are the only saving grace.
Ko 2 sets you up for a journey you expect to be exciting with a fairly good premise and start but flounders and deviates all through its course into poorly conceived romance-comedy, villainy and vengeance. The concept of death hanging on our shoulders is often a dreary topic to deal with as not everyone is comfortable talking about it in the open. In the same vein, making an engaging short film where death stands not just figuratively but literally on the doorstep is quite a challenge.

Devoid of superfluous commercial rudiments and a strong storyline that is well etched by artists who breathe lives into the roles, U-turn is a movie that cannot be missed.
It is not often we get films in India that have Sci-Fi, Action, Romance, Comedy & emotional drama bundled into a single film but still not fall under this overly abused tag of ‘Masala Film’. This is where Vikram Kumar and actor-producer Suriya score by giving us a fantastic whirlwind experience over the course of 160 odd minutes.
Jacobinte Swargarajyam attempts to be a tugging-at-the-heart emotional ride tracing the path of a close-knit family as it rides through financial calamities but it ends up to as a cheesy melodrama highlighting the amateurishness in scripting & dialogues.
The levelheaded approach shown by Ahmed & Udhayanidhi in not tinkering much with the core of Jolly LLB and letting the veterans take as much limelight as its hero makes the film tick the right boxes and score as a feel-good flick with a message.
This Jungle book might not be quite flawless conceptually, but the mastery from the technical team is pure enchanting wizardry which has the magic to iron out the flaws and hypnotize the viewers in a spell of audio visual enjoyment like no other!
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an incongruity. It’s not about one superhero emulating another, not about The Dark Knight trying to wallop the Man of Steel. It’s a movie at war with itself. And it lithely loses ground. But that doesn’t mean the movie is hard to swallow – Definitely one to watch and relish the more than two hours of superhero awesomeness.
