Indru Netru Naalai (Tamil, 2015)
Indru Netru Naalai once again proves that big stars & high budgets are not required for making an engaging movie. The content is extremely cohesive & the top-notch VFX helps in sustaining the believability of the whole fantasy ride.
Kaaka Muttai (Tamil, 2015)
Kakka Muttai is one of the rare fine movies that break away from the usual lot of the mainstream movies which get the name from the sheer quantity over quality! Despite having its flaws, the movie is a definite path-breaking attempt to make a commercially viable offbeat movie that can be watched with the family, thanks to some impressive writing and equally competent acting – Now that’s what we call a real win-win for both the critics and the mass alike!
Massu Engira Masilamani (Tamil, 2015)
While the start was heartening to see, with an established director charting up an unusual script for a commercial star & the star going all out with it, we get uncomfortably overloaded towards the end as film sags and leaves little impact because of it trying to handle too many things at a time – much like an aerated soft drink.
Demonte Colony (Tamil, 2015)
In spite of losing punch towards the end, Demonte Colony is one those rare films where Thought, Writing & Execution have come together admirably with the ingenious set-pieces & smart technical support proving to be a solid backbone.
36 Vayadhinile (Tamil, 2015)
In spite of being a little too superficial due to under-developed subplots & supporting cast, films like ‘36 Vayadhinilae’ are a breath of fresh air to Tamizh cinema. It touches the right chords courtesy of a fabulous performance from Jyothika & razor sharp dialogues from Viji.
