What’s Hot

  • This has to be Pushkar-Gayathri’s best yet with a marked improvement over their previous offering, showcasing their ability to make a stylized movie that has potential to engage almost every sense of a diverse set of audience. The psycho-analytical mind play which the story brings to the table is quite refreshing to experience, especially when the narrative remains non-judgmental and focuses only on telling a gripping tale!

  • Known for their casual and witty dialogues, Pushkar-Gayathri have exceeded expectations for having enjoyable humour in movie with such a serious plot, which is made special by Vijay Sethupathi’s unique dialogue delivery. The various exchanges between Vikram and Vedha are welcomed with vociferous reception from the audience.

  • Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan put in mind boggling performances while commanding boisterous screen presence. Madhavan’s intimidating demeanour complements Vijay Sethupathi’s casual confidence as they fit their respective roles to the bill. They just owned the tussles en route to the impressive finale that was nothing short of a rip-roaring crescendo.

  • P. S. Vinod manning the camera is that indispensable factor that beautifies each frame on display with crisp tones and apt colours. The encounters and other stunts featured are depicted in convincing fashion thanks to the stunning detail captured and made engrossing with alternating slow motion capture.

What’s Not

  • The directors’ trust seems to be misplaced in Sam C. S. who delivers an underwhelming music score that fails to overcome a jarring repetition of blaring sounds that it is at many places. Though the “Tasakku Tasakku….” number is catchy to some extent, the film that packs so much entertainment deserved an aural experience much better than this.

Verdict

Verdict Stamp

In our part of the world where cop movies are either about machoism or the good prevailing over the bad, 'Vikram Vedha' remains refreshingly non-judgemental and evolves into a stunning psychological thriller that’s crafted exquisitely and executed to perfection by the charismatic lead cast!
