What’s Hot

  • As with all the movies of this genre, the dialogues and comedy are for a striking notice. The actors have delivered comedies at good timings and leave the theater gagged during many occasions.
  • The songs have been shot well and are a treat to watch. Sivakarthikeyan, in particular, has improved his dancing skills significantly.
  • The background music has served as a filler in many important scenes.

What’s Not

  • Making a 2.5 hour movie requires, not a one line tagline, but more of a story, which viewers are left searching for. When things get a bit serious towards the climax, it gets too late.
  • The use of heavy comedy antics in serious scenes leaves viewers gaping as to where exactly the movie is headed to with the screenplay.
  • The director is definitely capable of doing a better job given what is doled out with this movie.

Verdict

Verdict Stamp

With a weak story and a screenplay, Maan Karate leaves most viewers in want, reminding them time and again of 'Rajapattai' during most of its running time.
