What’s Hot
- Prabhu Deva invests the required authority and grip to the role of the ace dance teacher and even his localized Hindi doesn’t stick out sorely. He is AWESOME in one sequence before the intermission where he decides to unleash the ace dancer within.
- Sachin-Jigar are the big backbone of the movie with their songs and background music which gel seamlessly with the dance sequences.
- The burly Ganesh Acharya plays apt foil and keeps the mood light. Kay Kay Menon is natural in bringing out the pride and arrogance in his character.
- The dance sequences are splendid to say the least thanks to the incredible dancers in the movie, the choreography, the pyrotechnics during the dance sequences and the grand sets.
- Watch out for Lauren Gottlieb, the American lead dancer in the team. She is a delight to watch. Other dancers such as Dharmesh Yelande, Salman Yusuff Khan, Punit Pathak also exhibit some jaw-dropping moves and screen presence during the dance scenes.
What’s Not
- The movie is so full of predictable cliches associated with underdog movies (such as the standard parent sentiments, drama, death, betrayal and the glorious victory), that the audience are bound to become edgy when the cast are not dancing.
