The Hateful Eight (English, 2015)
With a steadily paced beginning, well placed character introductions and strong yet impressive dialogues, ‘Hateful Eight’ promises to be an exciting roller coaster, but never really takes off as it keeps skidding down a slippery slope at a laborious pace as it is disfigured by the inexplicable use of violence and further dampened by a dated plot.
Point Break (English, 2015)
Point Break is one of those that can market itself just by using the marvelous stunt sequences on show. However, a bunch of daredevilry cobbled together don’t make for an engaging film and as a result the overall movie falls flat.
Spectre (English, 2015)
A typically charismatic Bond, frenetic action, stylized villains – now that’s what we get to see in any other action movie nowadays. The surprises, the intensity and the unforgettable endings that separated the Bond legacy from the others to carve a niche are sorely missed as ‘Spectre’ looks more of an ordinary, uninspiring and jaded action flick!
Sicario (English, 2015)
Sicario is a great example of how even a film with a straight-forward plot can be made suspenseful with detailing & an apt use of Camera, Music, Editing, debate-evoking dialogues involving contrasting characters that have a sense of intrigue about them
Bridge of Spies (English, 2015)
Bridge of Spies is not so much about the Political side of Spying or of handling trade of prisoners during the Cold War as it is about the need for a relentless character to negotiate things in calm amid all the chaos and pressure & the appreciation of one! The veterans involved are in full form in getting that translated to screen to perfection.
