In Kayal, the vacillating screenplay adds to the pointless story in testing your patience. From Mynaa to Khumki to Kayal, it has been one mighty fall for Prabhu Solomon & one hopes that he can think of other genres to make films on, as he seems to have lost steam with his beloved theme of ‘Unconditional Love’.
Meaghamann is a watchable action-thriller featuring some captivating stunts & decent plot twists but it could have been much better had more concentration been given to making the film a tad more taut & engaging.
The third and supposedly final edition of The Hobbit, with a crisp storyline stunning cinematography and an ensemble cast, is let down by a screenplay that does not know what to concentrate on – whether to live up to the name of the hobbit Bilbo or with the five armies that fight to get Erebor.
Gour Hari Dastaan is a film that deserves a wide release for staying so close to the truth yet never being flat or disengaging. The fact that the film was able to arouse the National Spirit of the audience without being ever manipulative or preachy makes it not just award-worthy but National-Award worthy.
“Grass is always greener on the other side” would befit this grim tale like a sock to foot; iced with right amount of happiness and balanced by a sumptuous share of debauchery & slavery.
For a movie based on a real life incident, ‘RoseVille’ takes its share of artistic freedom to put forward a probable explanation for the events that remain unsolved. A brilliant attempt to string the facts and weave them into a web of horror, suspense and thrill which will ensure to convince us that no remote villa is safe!
There are two lives for each one of us, the one we dream to and the one we are trapped into! Dreamland is where the attempt of such trapped beings to break away and live their dreams, is captured and where they are left to face the consequences of trying to upset the systematic compulsions – All presented in a touching fashion!
A slow realistic drama with engaging performances - and interestingly etched characters.
A spaghetti western shootout with little-to-no story that is watchable primarily because of the exquisite camera work. In spite of being ultra-slow at the start, the film builds up the pace as it moves towards the end.
Pisaasu is neither the typical horror film that gives you some cheap thrills nor is it a classic horror film that gives your spine a few chills, but it is a heart-warming, emotional take on Ghosts that takes its time & packs a punch with its masterful writing that unravels to a wonderful finish.
