Decently made horror comedies always give good return on investment. In this case with Sundar.C at the helm, expectedly, the comedy portions score over the horror sequences. On the whole, Aranmanai is a watchable entertainer with a straightforward plot, oozing glamour & hilarious one-liners.
The film vividly captures the contrasting nature of forests - its superficial beauty & the dangerous powers seen as one goes deep inside and connects that beautifully with how humans based in contrasting setups can still share a deep-rooted bonding.
Burma begins with a blast throwing at us quirky characters, interesting background score & some cheeky dialogues but loses its fizz when it tries too much to build up the tension towards the end.
