A fair share of thrills and a bigger share of spills prevent the movie from pressing forward for victory, and is left to keep mending the holes created by some inexplicable writing and poor conceptualization of the story - which makes 'Thakka Thakka' a noticeably depleted attack!
Thani Oruvan is one of those rare Good vs Evil films that manages to toe the line between Commercial and Masala exceedingly well. Even if the taut script and the impactful dialogues do not impress you, it is guaranteed that Aravind Swamy’s superlative performance will bowl you over!

Spy does complete justice to the action comedy genre of film-making with the main actors contributing immensely to its cause. Armed with a crafty screenplay filled with suspense and action, its dialogues and comic moments make it a feel good entertainer.

Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga is no better than any other commercially oriented comedy entertainers that Rajesh has made so far, only that the artificial dialogues, unenjoyable songs, an aversive plot and a ridiculous climax makes sure that the pretty good humour featured in the movie can only dilute the toxic experience!
Vaalu doesn’t have much to complain about because it doesn’t have much to write home about. The intentions seem to be to provide mindless fun but in the process, it lacks any story to be told and ends up being a film not to be bothered about – much like the vestigial tail some reptiles have.

The challenge of beating expectations with the sequel to a successful film is dealt-with handsomely with an anarchic yet amusing screenplay that works great because of Tanu, Manu, Kusum & the beloved side-kicks accompanying them.
