What’s Hot
- You will start running short of words trying to describe Rani Mukherji’s acting skills. She is one of the best in the industry and ‘Mardaani’ just takes her a notch higher. She literally has the audience chanting her name from her first frame in the movie. Be it curbing the vandalizing hooligans, nabbing a culprit, feeling remorseful for her husband, usage of cuss words or challenging the villain – she just nails every act.
- Tahir Raj Bhasin as the tech-savvy, suave, video game addicted and cool headed mastermind behind the whole trafficking syndicate has completely justified his potential. He definitely is not your typical Bollywood pimp and pulls off the role with aplomb and his entire persona symbolizes the Gen-Next ‘villainism’. The villain addressing the lead-lady as ma’am, has indeed some touch in there!!
- Mardaani is one unique movie which doesn’t involve a cop with unbelievable action sequences, high decibel dialogues or unnecessary pauses in the screenplay. Instead, it relies heavily on the performance of the protagonist and the story which has been exquisitely narrated by Pradeep Sarkar.
- This is one flick that stresses the importance of the supporting actors, none of whom let the film down and have performed their roles to near perfection to end up leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
What’s Not
- The kidnapping of the juvenile girls and the sequences that follow it up make the audience wince in discomfort. Though it might bring out watery eyes in many, it’s definitely not for the weak hearted lot due to the extent of disturbing content.
