What’s Hot
- Though there a lot of characters depicted, all of them have a fair share of screen space and have critical roles to play. Arulnithi has bonded well with Pawan, Tarun Shatriya and Murugadoss and they stand out, through thick and thin on the screen. The lead lady Poorna does not miss out and has a meaty role.
- In spite of the existence of a few formula based songs, they do not hamper the pace of the movie. The background score by Praveeen Sathya suits the movie well.
- Editing by T. S. Suresh deserves credit as the movie is kept to just over 2 hours inspite of a huge cast and succeeds in giving a seamless experience to the viewer.
- A fair share of scenes involving Arulnithi, Mayilsamy and Murugadoss provide comic relief in the authentic Madurai style.
What’s Not
- Aligning with the title, most of the scenes end in confrontations which give an overdose of violence and gore.
- Law enforcement is shown in poor light as the cops are powerless and clueless while robbers, goons and dons run around the city, scott free.
- The romance between the lead actors looks artificial which threatens to ruin the good work done all round.
