What’s Hot
- Vadivelu’s comeback after a three year exile warrants celebration as he still seems to retain his comic touch and laughter inducing antics. His dual role in this movie shows enough potential to force him back into mainstream comedy roles in Tamil movies.
- Meenakshi Dixit, who has not been seen much in Tamil movies, looks the perfect eye candy to play the cheerful princess with her cute expressions in romance and elegant dance moves. Her costumes are impressive and one can’t take the eyes off her beauty.
- The grand replicas put up for resurrecting the atmosphere of a grand kingdom are surreal and pleasing to the eye. The special effects and sets when the movie opens to a Chinese kingdom amidst snow laden mountains look majestic.
- The movie is not short of humor at any point, thanks to the presence of a variety of comedians commonly seen on the screen. The intent to provide clean humor without any vulgarity by means of short and witty incidents attracts the attention of kids and grownups alike.
What’s Not
- Even with the talented D. Imman in charge, the songs in the movie are difficult to endure. The period setting in the time of Kings just doesn’t seem to suit his style of music and maybe that’s why his efforts sound monotonous and lifeless.
