Harish, Venu and Kapil are pre-teens who are classmates and best friends. They have a pretty ordinary childhood much like the others and are experiencing the typical adolescent dilemma triggered by hormonal changes. A fateful day when they witness a brutal rape and murder, they are forced to grow up almost instantly and are aghast at the attitude of the perpetrators. They assume social responsibility and set out to bring the criminals to justice. Do they even get close to doing that? – The rest of the story works to reveal this suspense.

  • A refreshing story is always welcome amidst formulaic entertainers that dominate the industry. Debutant director Halitha Shameem does the right thing by putting a good story first and spicing it up with young characters. She has to be lauded for a clever presentation of the lives of adolescent kids who end up having different priorities – to stand up against social injustice.
  • The performances by the lead cast are of massive support to the movie, despite most of them being new to acting. Gaurav fits the bill perfectly as Venu, the romantic guy while Pravin does an impressive job with his introvert style that suits his geeky character. Vasanth who has some acting experience, is the funny guy in the gang who can also emote well.
  • The nicknames like ‘Antenna’, ‘Lolly pop’ strike a nice funny vibe when pronounced by the kids and the dialogues are very casual at times and quite explicit at times to suit the mood of the discussions when they are mouthed.
  • The film is predominantly shot at scenic mountain backdrops which add a new dimension to the visuals which are handled by acclaimed lensman – Manoj Paramahamsa. His skills are evident at a specific night shot involving the antagonists and a romantic dream sequence featuring Venu and his love interest that is filled with lamps and shot in low light.

What’s Not

  • The characterizations of the antagonists are a touch under cooked with much attention showered upon bringing about their downfall plotted by the young boys. With none of them being able to put up actions to support their deeds at the start of the movie, the valuable impact a evenly matched contest goes missing.
