What’s Hot
- The film is lifted majorly by the songs and soundtrack of Rajesh Murugesan. All the themes on the album are already a big hit with listeners. The audio CD of the movie is a collector’s item for sure.
- Actors such as Simhaa, Nassar, John Vijay, Thambi Ramaiah contribute to the fun element of the flick though they aren’t your quintessential comedians. Simhaa plays a totally different and menacing role compared to Soodhu Kavvum while ‘Awesome’ Nassar proves his flair for comedy.
- We have plenty of funny situations around the names of the characters such as Manick (originally Manickam), Saravanar (a more respectful version of the name Saravanan) and Katta Kunju (the name of a cop).
- The scenes in a messy police station, which is being renovated and painted, are enjoyable, with the main cop himself sitting inside the lock-up for want of place.
- The plot of the movie is pretty simple but the very many characters, their antics and the situations make the movie an enjoyable experience. All the characters are connected through the screenplay in a seamless manner by director Alphonse Putharen.
- Nazriya Nazim is a very pretty face while the male lead Nivin Pauly is a typical guy next door with whom you can identify with.
What’s Not
- The film has a really convenient ending as all the pieces of the puzzle fall in place, just in time for the movie to end.
- Though the camera work and cuts are stylish, there are far too many slow-motion shots.
- The sudden heroic transformation in the male lead’s character in the climax is pretty jarring.
