What’s Hot

  • The concept of the movie is worth a mention. To have the story told through a Divine Game, embedded with a narration of previous and current events, is an idea that can garner good public approval.
  • The lead actors have done their parts required for a comic entertainer. VTV Ganesh’s performance commands special mention as he has the audience in splits on quite a handful instances. Subbu Panchu, Devadarshini and Manobala have played their parts to perfection to justify their choice as supporting cast.
  • A comic entertainer trying to convey a message in the climax has to be something different. Credit has to be given to the director to have tried to achieve it during the climax while keeping the audience engrossed at the same time.
  • Prem Kumar’s music lingers around and leaves us with one or two good numbers to hum.

What’s Not

  • Any movie striving to be pure comic entertainer has to be intelligently paced to succeed. A dragging first half ensures that the movie fails miserably at this, leaving the audience praying for an intermission to provide some relief.
  • The story and concept of the movie lose sheen with a poor on-screen translation thanks to a mediocre screenplay.
  • A big dose of ‘spoof’ infused into a large number of scenes overshadow the good work done by some light-hearted comedy sequences which the audience enjoy, to leave the movie in a deep and dark void.

Naveena Saraswathi Sabadham is a light-hearted comic entertainer which neither bores you in any big way nor gets you caught by its message and entertainment.
