What’s Hot
- The story moves at a rapid pace for most of its duration with an uncommon plot revolving around undetectable economic offenses committed by a perfect network of elite individuals. The director, Rajapandi has made an intelligent attempt to showcase the impending catastrophic consequences when one of them becomes a target of personal vendetta.
- The experience of watching a thriller is at the hands of slick editing with the duo of Praveen and Srikanth performing an overwhelming job at that. The run time is kept to just over 2 hours which is critical to the impact created. The songs have also been arranged using unique techniques.
- A couple of love duets from Premgi Amaren’s album make it to the first half movie and they have a nice ring to the ear with peppy compositions. The “Money” song towards the end is a classic pub song created in trademark Premgi’s urban style! The background scores are quite refreshing too which showcase the versatility of the composer.
What’s Not
- The performances on screen are not quite so convincing to justify the characterizations. Rahman looks a bit rusty as the bad politician as he is never in command. Prabhu as the victim of Rahman’s cunningness and his attempt at revenge suggests inappropriate casting. While Mahima Nambiar does enough to play the damsel in distress, Vasanth Vijay as the protagonist is tough to endure with his over the top acting and annoying tone of dialogue delivery.
- The suspense in the narration is held up with supreme care at the start of the movie. However, a trick or two is missed with the screenplay when the entire premise including the details of the operations of the antagonists is broken well ahead of the interval block. By the time the flashback arrives in the second half, the viewers can mind read the end result.
