Burma (Tamil, 2014)
Burma begins with a blast throwing at us quirky characters, interesting background score & some cheeky dialogues but loses its fizz when it tries too much to build up the tension towards the end.
Sigaram Thodu (Tamil, 2014)
It’s a summit of peaking performances – some over the top, some over ambitious but largely enjoyable and emotionally engaging. A good movie package overall with some cool visuals, peppy songs, racy action, rib-tickling humor and of course heart melting emotions!
Mary Kom (Hindi, 2014)
Mary Kom is a movie based on the life of Mangte Chungneijang Kom. Her rise to dominate the world boxing championships coming from a remote village in Manipur is enjoyable. But watch it if you want to just know about Mary Kom and not about who Magnificent Mary, the boxer is!
Amara Kaaviyam (Tamil, 2014)
Amara Kaaviyam may not be the immortal epic its name translates to, but is nevertheless a honest film that stays true to its core for its run-time and makes for a definite non-regrettable watch for the sincere efforts of the cast & crew.
Poriyaalan (Tamil, 2014)
Set amidst the shady world of real-estate brokers & money lenders, Poriyalan is a realistic film that is worthy of a watch thanks to the impressive acting from the veterans & the intricate plot.
