Mary Kom (Hindi, 2014)
Mary Kom is a movie based on the life of Mangte Chungneijang Kom. Her rise to dominate the world boxing championships coming from a remote village in Manipur is enjoyable. But watch it if you want to just know about Mary Kom and not about who Magnificent Mary, the boxer is!
Mardaani (Hindi, 2014)
Mardaani is definitely not for the ‘Chulbul Pandey’ and ‘Bajirao Singham’ junkies, but for those who want the pleasure of watching a nice and powerful cop flick without the superfluous elements. This is absolutely worth a trip to the theatres.
Revolver Rani (Hindi, 2014)
Kangana sizzles but the film on the whole is a total disappointment without enough firepower to carry on the good work at the start and inevitably peters out to be the bullet that you want to bite.
Bobby Jasoos (Hindi, 2014)
Bobby Jasoos turns out to be a woeful story tried to be transformed into a gripping detective screenplay. The local hyderabadi dialect of Hindi with Urdu laced with it sounds good for most part of the movie. But all along, it is caught in its own question, whether to go the captivating way, or the family subject way and ends up doing as much as nothing.
CityLights (Hindi, 2014)
CityLights delves on the darker side that portrays apathy, complacency and a life in the midst of hucksters. Based on a good story and backed by strong performances by the lead cast, the movie kicks up intrigue and unpredictability which overshadows the lengthy run time.
