Chennai International Film Festival 2013: A round-up

The 11th Chennai International Film Festival started on the 12th of December 2013 and went on till the 19th of December.The movie line up contained more than 150 films spread across various segments. The line-up boasted of some great films including Blue is the warmest color, The Hunt, A touch of Sin, Stray dogs which were featured in the prestigious Cannes festival. The movies were screened in collocated screens across Woodlands, Casino, Abirami, INOX theatres & Rani Seethai Hall

15 Tamil films that stood out in 2013

2013 was an eventful year for Tamil cinema with around 147 releases. Even though very few of them were able to achieve Box-Office success, there were many films that were innovative and steadfast in the quest to be different. Presented here are few films that we at Piping Hot Views consider to be innovative and have some sort of novelty associated with it. As a result of this a certified Box Office Hit like 'Singam 2' will not make it to this list but a film like 'Paradesi' would.
