Murugan and ‘Police’ Pandi start their own business as realtors in their village with the help of a few friends and funds provided by a notorious moneylender ‘Vaddi’ Varadhan. Their first venture turns out bad as they get duped by a realty agent, which lands them in the bad books of ‘Vaddi’ who makes them work at his house as slaves until they repay the debt. Murugan’s attempt to escape the situation using Yamuna – a resident at Vaddis’, makes things worse when he discovers who she is. Vaddi’s ire and Murugan’s romance collide and the consequences are shown as the rest of the story.

What’s Hot
- The music from Imman is soothing as ever. Though we are starting to see traces of his hit compositions from the recent past, the renditions in this movie are still attractive. The couple of melodies featuring the lead pair, lend further credence for the angelic Sri Divya who mesmerises yet again with her petite looks.
- John Vijay is again back to what he does best, playing the role of a dreaded villain. His trademark voice and body language suit the role of the money lending, goon commanding guy who is feared by common men. His character stays true all the while without indulging in cheap comedy, which is nice to see.
What’s Not
- As the saying goes – every good thing has to come to an end. We hope that’s not what will happen to Vikram Prabhu’s dream run since his debut in ‘Kumki’ a couple of years ago. His character in this movie is not very reassuring as it is totally out of sorts with no real purpose which reflects in his efforts to portray the character as well. He ends up chasing the lead lady and fighting goons just for the sake of it.
- The director of the movie, Ezhil takes up yet another village based comedy subject just like his previous two movies and this one is not so different either in its mediocre content or critical reception. Looking to simply ride on an overload of PJs and the cute looks of the lead lady is not doing any good for the fortunes of the movie, nor for his reputation as an award winning family entertainer of the late 90s.
- The support cast includes a swarm of comedy actors like Soori, ‘Dindugal’ Saravanan, Singampuli and Singamuthu who are overused without evoking the proportionate laughs one expects when so many of them are in the field. This is further compounded by poor choice for the other support characters.
