What’s Hot
- Santhanam as ever is the only solace in such badly written movies. His story-line is written with quite a bit of imagination & his styling & make-up do gel well. Even though only few of his wisecracks work, his presence on screen does relieve the audience of the uneasiness/restlessness induced by the rest of the cast.
- The cinematography is excellent be it the local or the foreign locations. The shot of Santhanam coming though the tire is superbly done & camera movement is excellent.
What’s Not
- It is a known fact that a mainstream heroine like Nayanthara cannot just stick to performance-oriented scripts all the time but when she is capable of so much more how can she agree to such a poorly written role where her characterization is utterly inconsistent. Of course, she looks angelic whenever she comes on screen, emoting & dancing well but Nayanthara is so much more than just looks.
- Not sure if their parts were edited out but the screen time given to good actors like Sayaji Shinde, Vinodhini & Suzanne George is extremely minimal. Even the comedians Karunakaran & Rajendran are wasted.
- Writer-director Jagadish has put a lot of thought into creating so many antagonists for the hero/heroine but has to improve in packaging them convincingly. Also, it shows that he was an assistant of Rajesh, as the film has lots of traces of Rajesh’s earlier films but where his mentor succeeded in having the elements in the right proportions, Jagadish misses the bus.
- Continuity mistakes such the hero’s crystal clear shirt just minutes after being voluntarily soiled, inappropriate placement of songs especially the final song, Nee Sunno New Moono, wafer-thin storyline & an irritating set-piece involving Santhanam’s pair Sherin really tests the patience of the audience.
