What’s Hot

  • The screenplay of the movie is an intriguing journey as there is not one moment that the viewer is left gasping as to what he/she sees may be boring. It is full of energy and the suspense element is thrown in at the right proportion.
  • The director Neeraj Pandey shows the form he showed in A Wednesday & Special 26. He nails it not only with his writing skills through the screenplay, but also with directing the parts neatly. In telling a fictitious story based on a real-life account, the director has managed not to overdo with political influences and just stayed true to the essence of counter-terrorism.
  • Due to the nature of its plot, we have a lot of swagger as well as thinking characters. While swagger is served aplomb with some devoted acting from Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher and Rana Daggubati, intelligence head Feroz Khan played by Danny Denzongpa takes care of the thinking angles. Akshay Kumar especially has outdone himself in portraying a composed security agent.
  • What is an action movie without some mouth-watering stunt sequences? Cyril Raffaelli has made sure that the movie’s stunts are realistic and not over the top since we are dealing with smart and tough army officers.
  • Since we are talking of intelligence operations, the story keeps changing locations due to the nature of operations and cameraman Sudeep Chatterjee has done good justice to it by capturing the essence of what is required.

What’s Not

  • As is the case in a counter-terrorism based action movie, though the protagonist has all the attention, the antagonists in the movie don’t have much to do. If one is looking for smartness sans action from the villains, this can be given a miss.
